My kid is going to attend an above average school. Not what I would have hoped for, but plenty good.

oP, I would not defend his choice to the lies of you, defend his character to the likes of you, or stay in any conversation beyond a minute or two. I only say positive things about him in Public.

Stony Brook grad here, and Binghamton and Geneseo are not average schools!

Any college that throws merit money at you is not "average", IMO.

That is great indeed! Recognize, though, that for 99.5 percent of the bubbled up folks here, ROTC is not on the table for their kids.

Let me see if I understand this, you are complaining that parents refuse to state what average college their kids attend, which is none of your business. You have so much free time, extremely idle, that you typed your frustration about this on this forum? What normal person thinks like this? Oh my goodness. Where are from? What state? I feel so bad for your children. You don't get pick your parents at conception but your kids have it bad. Mom it's very important for you to keep this in mind, all colleges do is educate your child regardless of their rank. Colleges can't make your child successful. What your child does with that education is completely up to him/her. I've had the privilege of working with many CEOs that run many of the largest companies in the U.S. and very successful entrepreneurs, many of them attended average colleges. So you being so fixated on this issue is disturbing. If you focused this much effort on volunteering for meaningful causes like habit for humanity, Red Cross, Feed the Homeless,Battered women Shelters you won't be so worried about why parents chose not to share. Smh!

Nursing, teaching, army? According to OP your kids are average.

One of the big issues with OPs statement is that there doesn't seem to be a clear definition of an "average" college as opposed to an "above average" college. OP, what's your definition of an "average" college? I'd say that the top 50 national universities (as ranked by USNWR) are above average. The same goes for the top 50 LACs. Would you accept that definition OP?
