We go to Hearst and in 5 years I've never had an administrative or billing issue with Innis.

Mann families - Do you like Wonders as an aftercare provider?

MOMIES TLC can be very good with a good site manager, but it's quality largely resides with the quality of the instructors.

Murch has four separate arrangements and all but one were organically grown by parents years ago out of necessity, filling in the gaps.

1) Murch x-day, with a parent Board: http://www.murchxday.net/about-us/. Independent of DCPS.

2) Capitol Language Services: which was started by a Murch parent, who continued and grew the program after her kids graduated: http://www.capitollanguageservices.net Independent of DCPS.

3) Flex Academies (this one you can hire) to manage after school enrichment classes from outside vendors - new this year. It used to be loosely organized by parents individually. Independent of DCPS.

4) Other teacher/parent sponsored after school clubs (guitar club, choir, musical, game clubs, track and cross country, basketball, hip hop club, etc.). Most are part of DCPS teacher's small stipend for after school programs thingy or DCPS athletics.

I like that you have a lot of options and can move between them all; but it is a lot of work for parents to set up and run these programs in the first place.

Bumping this to hear more about Champions aftercare. Which schools use them? Any more feedback would be appreciated.

DC's aftercare costs are, generally, less expensive than those in surrounding jurisdictions. Though I agree that the range of fees charged by different schools seems crazy. I think it's hard to staff a program for just a few hours a day.

OP here. We had considered Champions - almost awarded the contract - but found the quality to be very lacking.

Sorry, it is the highest of all Springboard programs. Essentially we are paying twice as much (sometimes three times as much) per hour as the same program at other schools.

Our WOTP school runs its own, not sure of legal structure but it's not a for profit company. I pay approx $260/mo plus $50 per day for professional days.

It is the highest for Springboard and very high for what Springboard offers. I have done Springboard and would not pay more than $10/day for it.
