+2 Also try her book, "Two Little Trains" I love her stuff. Read about her a little - she actually knew what she was doing and wrote books in that cadence intentionally.

While I will read kids' books to entertain my children and am thrilled to giggle with them over silly books (like Sandra Boynton books), I honestly can say that once my kids outgrow these books, I will probably not read them again until I have grandchildren or am babysitting. Cute, but I do get tired of reading the same simple books over and over and over again for years.

Children's books are tiring, but they are a lot of fun with children. So they have a purpose and are good for that, but otherwise, not.

I've read the entire Harry Potter series aloud to my kids three times and Would happily do so again.

I know it's long, but I love the Lorax.
I liked some of the Ivy & Bean books (admittedly, I was not asked to read them more than once).
I like Splat the Cat books.
We read "Follow the Leader" about a million times when my DD was little, and I never tired of it.
Barnyard Dance by Sandra Boynton (silly easy rhymes).

I have to admit, though, that I love reading bedtime stories.

I LOVE Hippos Go Berserk and also The Bellybutton Book. I have more trouble signing My Personal Penguin, so I don't like that one as much. I also like Buenas Noches a Todos (yes, we have that one in Spanish) and to the criticism in the other thread, the putting on pajamas before going outside to exercise before bed is supposed to be FUNNY. And it is.

I also love the Pigeon books, The Princess and the Pony, and Dr. Suess's ABCs - bring on the silly rhyming nonsense words!
