This. Was just reading my uncle's Facebook post about how he can't express his political views at work, blah blah, and that he's now "done" with the NFL. Given his political leanings, his opinion on this issue doesn't surprise me, but I was like really?! THIS is why you've decided to abandon your beloved Giants?

Initially, I evaluated Kaepernick's act and was disappointed (to say the least), but now I see all the backlash over his choice to peacefully protest, and....I can't believe I'm saying this, but I now see him as a sympathetic figure: if he were to stand, it would be SUCH a hollow gesture. I hope he stands his ground--not because I support his message, but because I support his right to sit, stand, whatever he chooses. Doesn't impact my ability to proudly salute my country.

Agree 100%. I get that there are some delicates out there offended by this sort of thing. I'd suggest finding a hobby and a way of improving the country for all - which is kind of the point of the protests- rather than pay lip service to what this country is supposed to stand for (and sometimes fails).

I despise the message that this clown is making, but I believe in freedom of speech and support his exercise of this fundamental right.
Remember, you can make your feelings about him known through your own free choice as well. Let the team and organization know that his ideas about what the flag/anthem of the US stands for reflects negatively on everyone else. Don't pay money to go see a game where this guy is playing.
