Just wanted to add that I also have a 2nd grader in the same school and I have received nothing! I did fill out info sheet at open house for him too. He knows how to get on the bus already though.

At our school all that info would be given out at back to school night, which is different from open house/meet and greet day. if you have a back to school night coming up, just wait it out. If not, it's totally legit to email the teacher and ask for the specials schedule, if nothing else.

I'm a "more info is better" type person and in my experience this varies from teacher to teacher and probably from school to school. I would ask the teacher the questions that you have, use email if you can b/c pick up and drop off are busy.

I'm in a very similar situation and to top it off we don't even have a back to school night. I've already emailed the teacher once or twice and drop off every day (for unrelated reasons) which gives at least some minimal interaction with the teacher, but I'm also hesitant to start the year off as "that"
parent who constantly emails etc. it's very frustrating.
