Westland and B-CC have diversity both racially and economically which I think makes for better citizens.
How do you know that grades are kept artificially high? I don't agree with that statement. My kids work their asses off for their grades. Don't speak of what you don't know. You shouldn't resent hard working children.
Was at Westland, moved to Pyle. Was shocked that there is time spent in every class having teachers help with homework. My child was able to retake all tests until they got A. That to me is artificially getting good grades.

The rezoning is going to impact Whitman, B-CC Churchill, Wooton and Einstein.
A lot of the old boundaries will go back in place. Wood Acres, Sumner etc will go to Westland but feed to Whitman, River Falls will go back to Cabin John and Churchill, West of Falls Road will go to Wooton, North of the Beltway will go to Einstein, B-CC will have East of Bradley Blvd to Chevy Chase and Silver spring will be split between B-CC and Blair. WJ & a new high school along with the reopening of Woodward will take care of that area and White Flint.
So scared. Shaking in our boots. Quite frankly, I find your suggestion to be racist.

Lots of changes coming folks. Pyle is the most overcrowded middle school in the county. [/quote
Even if that were true and it most likely isn't, so what. You could drawn Whitman in any form of shape in the known universe and it would still be just as wealthy and white. Even if you stretched the the zone in to VA you would pick up McLean and if you dipped into DC you would pick up AU park and spring valley. If they rezone Whitman all they would do is send some kids (with pissed parents) to Churchill or BCC.
It isn't like the silver spring area where there are more poor zones than middle class so the boundaries are a balancing act that the parents are super sensitive about.
Would be a bit odd if they rezoned any of Whitman to BCC. BCC does have 2 middle schools now, but they will quickly be full, and the HS is already overcrowded and undergoing a renovation to accommodate more students. But BCC is in the middle of Bethesda and would have a lot of trouble expanding the building to accommodate re-zoned kids (unless they could somehow acquire the office building real estate next door.)
