Westland is generally pretty weak, with poor Administration but our experience at BCC has been very good and for us, it is much preferred to Whitman. The IB program adds a different dimension, school definitely more diverse, location much better. I would suggest you choose based on HS.

Was at Westland, moved to Pyle. Was shocked that there is time spent in every class having teachers help with homework. My child was able to retake all tests until they got A. That to me is artificially getting good grades.


Or helping kids learn. So...I take it they don't allow that practice at Pyle?

Lol this poster is delusional, even if some of this happens they're clearly a silver spring poster hoping to get rezoned to BCC or blair. Like MoCo would take the downtown folks zoned for under enrolled Einstein and send them to over enrolled BCC or Blair just to make like two neighborhoods happy. All while those neighborhoods settled for silver spring claiming to love diversity and the "clearly the Pyle whitman people are afraid to have black people in their school".

Hope your kids enjoy Einstein ?

This clearly was written be a silver spring poster hoping to get re-zoned to Blair after paying what seem like a lot (for them) to move to a home near DTSS and ended up zoned to Einstein which doesn't fit into their notion of where a better neighborhood should feed to. Can't think of why else Einstein would be lumped into a zoning discussion with the Ws. Changing Einsteins zoning dip desigined to pick up some middle class kids isn't a priority of anybody's to change save for the Woodside people who feel slighted and incorrectly assume the grass is greener at Blair non-magnate.

Even if that were true and it most likely isn't, so what. You could drawn Whitman in any form of shape in the known universe and it would still be just as wealthy and white. Even if you stretched the the zone in to VA you would pick up McLean and if you dipped into DC you would pick up AU park and spring valley. If they rezone Whitman all they would do is send some kids (with pissed parents) to Churchill or BCC.

It isn't like the silver spring area where there are more poor zones than middle class so the boundaries are a balancing act that the parents are super sensitive about.


Would be a bit odd if they rezoned any of Whitman to BCC. BCC does have 2 middle schools now, but they will quickly be full, and the HS is already overcrowded and undergoing a renovation to accommodate more students. But BCC is in the middle of Bethesda and would have a lot of trouble expanding the building to accommodate re-zoned kids (unless they could somehow acquire the office building real estate next door.)
