You are right, and it is not developmentally appropriate for young children to have so little outdoor, gross motor activity.

Did you talk to the principal? I just did this at my DCPS ES. It is against DCPS policy (and DC Law).

My FCPS school has 30 minutes for lunch and 20 minutes for recess. This is 4th grade. It's definitely dependent on the school.

The teacher tells them how many minutes they have, and how many are being taken away
