Running is bad for your joints, don't overdo it!!!
Let your colleagues get knee replacements at 50, but not you.
Be creative, and get off the running bandwagon.
This is not true. The best scientific studies to address knee degeneration over time have found a slight overall positive impact on knees from running. This assumes you do not run on an injured knee. Never run on an injured knee!
My mom needed knee replacements and she never ran or exercised a day in her life, as is the story with pretty much every person I know who has needed this procedure. It really is due to the luck of the draw/genetics. And of course if you do run and do need surgery, the doctor will tell you it is from running, conveniently forgetting the fact that they had already had 5 non-running patients that day!
