Classes are overcrowded, too.

Come Sept next year, there will be
98 degree F classrooms
45 kids in an academic classroom
All seats removed on buses so they are standing room only.
But religious holidays off and professional days will be cancelled so there's an extra week for Ocean City! Yay!

+ 1 When one bus was crowded at our MCPS elementary school, they added a second bus to that route. It's the only safe option. Keep emailing the bus depot and the school principals.

These buses are for the test-in programs - the lottery programs don't have the same buses. But whatever.

Ah, I see - so once the activities start up, evening buses will be OK - ok, that makes me feel better.

Kid not enjoying the ride - but LOVING the curriculum. So, trade-offs.

Or more likely: lots of kids opted out of the bus as parents quickly formed carpools as a result of the dangerous overcrowding. That's what happened in our area.

We had this problem last year. The bus depot helped get things sorted out. It took a couple weeks f weeks. Thing is though that when counts were actually done the buses weren't nearly as crowded as the kids said.

My child was told no standing allowed. They are putting 3 kids in the 2 seaters and 4 in the 3 seaters. I would report the standing to transportation ASAP

Standing while the bus is in motion, this is very unsafe. Please contact transportation and the respective school. MCPS needs to come up with solutions, more children enrolling in mcps and the transportation and class size issues are not being addressed.
