You gave an example of FI, so I'll give an example of the UK.
UK has effectively year round school. Their summer doesn't start until last week of July. They go back first week of Sept. They usually get six weeks in the summer, and one week in between quarters. Plus they have two weeks for xmas and spring break. Their school sessions are basically about six weeks per quarter, with a break in between.
