Skype has a sound test (Echo or something like that) that you can call to hear how you sound

had my interview. Thanks for all of the suggestions.

I followed yours and added them on skype ahead of time to connect.

I didn't need a headset.

I def struggled to keep my eyes on the camera.

overall it went well enough i think though it isn't a dream job or anything so i wasn't under pressure

I rented a private office for an hour. No distractions, dogs or clutter.

Yeah, ditto. Skype a friend a couple days before and then that same day to make sure the sound still works. Turn Skype on early in case it's the day they decide to make everyone install an update and you have to restart. And give a backup phone number for the interviewer to reach you on just in case they end up typing you Skype name incorrectly.

Don't count on natural lighting. I interviewed a guy who was well lit by a window at the start but then clouds rolled in and he was totally dark.

I do lots of Skype interviews - make sure you check your sound w someone - I end up wearing a headset w a Mike but you should be fine talking into computer but every once in a while someone's microphone isn't working and you can't hear them
