First, I'm not OP, so no need to attack either of us with your assumed "nasty voicemails". Second, we applied to SJC last year, were accepted, but decided to attend another private- likely on your "ranked" list (whatever that may entail). I'm just correcting the PP who needed to "dispel a misconception" that the entire process was not online, when in fact, that's what it is. It is not online. Other "ranked" schools- Big 3 etc. everything can be done (including paying your application fee via credit card) ONLINE in one stop. Chill out.
As the PP you are quoting I was correcting the previous statement that said it was a "paper application." It isn't. No where did I say the entire process was online. The application can be submitted online and is not a paper application. There are other schools that handle it the same way. It seems as though you may be more familiar with how the Big 3 schools handle applications. The Catholic schools typically don't handle it the same way. It sounds like you may need to chill out also.

I think OP is trolling for some reason. Who would call a school in its busiest week of the year about something not pressing and then post about how unresponsive they are? Seems like he/she is playing gotcha and maligning a group of very nice, hardworking people.

New SJC parent here. OP, I'm sure part of it is that SJC started later than many other area private schools. Today is the first day of school, and the admissions office has just barely "handing off" the incoming freshmen and their parents. Also, last fall they had 1200 shadow visits. I seriously doubt they are deliberately ignoring everyone. They are probably just fielding a zillion phone calls and emails and need time to catch up. I hope you hear back soon. I know it's stressful.

I am not the OP but thank YOU for your message, above. You have reminded me why I won't be sending my kids to any "ranked private school" despite that I attended one of the area's highest ranked schools, myself. All of these schools have good educations but I prefer my kids not rub elbows with obnoxious people like you Mr/Mrs " Your kid is already being crossed off the list". BTW, I will say a prayer for YOU at church. What an incredibly unchristian comment and uncharacteristic of many of these " ranked private schools" that you have alluded to and, specifically, not like any SJC alumni I know. Perhaps a telling sign that you,yourself, never attended one of them.

They require a handwritten personal statement which is the reason for mailing it. I have no problem with making a kid expend a little effort doing an application. It's easy to push a button. SHow them you want it, kid!
