For school, I put it up in braids, ponytail, or pigtails (usually braids). If I leave before she gets ready for school, the most my husband can handle is a ponytail.

I love this style on little girls. Unfortunately, my daughter hates it. I had her hair cut in a short bob when she was 4 and she still refers to it as the time when I made her look like a boy. She's 12 and now has hair down to the middle of her back. Funny thing is her hair is the only "girly" thing about her. She pretty much lives in boys t-shirts, track pants, and sneakers.


This is my eight year old. Long, flows hair. Boys athletic clothes. I guess it's a look?

It's long enough to stay tucked behind her ears. Side part. Angled around her face. Long layers in the back.

Personally, I'd rather she go with a ponytail sometimes or a clip to pull the front back. But it's not my hair. She likes what she likes.

Mine likes high ponytails or buns (not low ponytails), a braid, sometimes half pulled back and then the strand of pulled back hair pulled through the top in a "twist" sort of thing. She loves it down but it gets in her face and as someone with curly hair, I have a lifelong deep distrust of bangs and am too afraid to try them on her. She's in first grade.

Long with bangs. Hair is thick and very wavy. I don't love the bangs but she hates to put anything in it to hold it back so she likes to have bangs.

shoulder length down or in a colored hairtie. Sometimes they will add a headband or flower barrette themselves.
It's true they recommend a single braid spritzed with rosemary to prevent lice - little girls love to stand with their heads close together or put their heads on each other's shoulders.

PP here, I have a straight hair, I do not understand my daughters curly hair. Maybe our kids were switched at birth?
