Subject: Nashville vs Austin
Nashville is a ton of fun. But I don't think you could go wrong with either. It's just more about what you're in the mood for.
Country music, lots of indie coffee shops and hipsters, hot chicken and jeni's splendid ice cream?
Or
Indie rock music, lots of cute boutiques, fantastic variety
of food trucks, home of whole foods, fresh salsa and limeade and Amy's ice cream?
Serious cowboy boot shopping can be done at both locations.

Agreed, the actual walkable part of Nashville is pretty small, that is probably why someone called it a big town instead of a city.

Why did people say Nashville is a big town? I didn't think it was that big. It is walkable IF you are staying on Broadway or within a block or two from it.

I consider Ausrin to be super-walkable. We stay on South Congress and walk up to the University (and excellent LBJ museum) all the time. Or we'lll walk to Zilker Park or Barton Springs or run along the river. You can easily walk to hundreds of restaurants if you stay anywhere near downtown.

So you'd have a half-day, full day, and maybe half-day out there? You'd definitely be able to do stuff, but that's a lot of travel time for not much fun time if you ask me.

Both towns sound incredible, I am thinking whichever one we don't make it to this time around, we will save for another time.
On another note, some people suggested places like San Diego and Vail, both on my bucket list. I hadn't considered them for this time around because i didn't think they would be doable on a 3 day weekend, would I need more time to enjoy these destinations?

Four Seasons or Driskill if you can afford it. I can make more recommendations if you decide to go there.
Or the W! Beautiful bar and just across the river (lake) from South Austin, which in my opinion is the only Austin that matters
