The story of how she climbed her way to Murdoch was actually publicized in a stomach-churning WSJ article maybe 15 years ago. So fascinatingly sick that I only had a faint idea who Rupert was at the time and had no idea who she was, but I never forgot the article. Here's a summary:

The Putin & Deng claim draws nothing but derision in Russia. Certainly a man with Putin's reach and resources can do better than a worn-out mother of two enjoyed by many. Why would he even do that?

Let's not forget that Ivanka and Chelsea Clinton have been really good friends as well. This isn't news.
