I GUARANTEE that the person with allergies would realize. And while your pet is of course the perfect angel I have been on two flights during the past year where a lap dog got away from its owner and was running under seats/took a dump/created chaos. Sorry but I'm not paying to travel to deal with animals. In getting a pet people should accept certain limitations. Those being that that pet is boarded when you vacation or you leave it with a loved or trusted caregiver.

You SHOULD be paying through the teeth to bring an animal into an enclosed space where no one knows how that animal will react. I can only hope that this whole notion of "emotional support animals" will come to an end soon as more and more people complain. My husband is incredibly allergic to cats. A cat on a plane makes him miserable for 24 hours. We've banned peanuts, pets in the cabin will and should be next.

Yeah, this. Real, legitimate service animals are welcome on any flight, and anywhere else. But this "emotional support" nonsense is either used by people who just want their pet with them at all times, or people why are legitimately comforted by a pet. But you know what? That doesn't mean you can fly with your German Shepard, simply because he makes you feel better. You are overly newvous, and sometime you have to make sacrifices. In this case, that means either drive, fly without the dog, or don't travel. Simple.

I could get an "emotional support" certification for the fox that is currently standing in my driveway. It means nothing.

But people do bring animals in the cabin. Just tell the airline ahead of time, get an appropriate carrier, make sure it gets to relieve itself before you get on the plane. Ask your vet if it needs a sedative. Don't make a big deal about bringing the animal on the plane. When you get to your destination, let the dog relieve itself and give it some water before you go to baggage claim.

Sounds like you are the emotional support human for your dog.

If she's paying, ans you can behave properly, I'd say why not fly with her.

Well, PP is not necessarily wearing scented products, but I get your point. I'm also quite allergic to pet dander, but I'll just take an antihistamine or have my seat moved if it means that someone with actual PTSD can get to their parent's funeral, their new house, vacation of a lifetime, etc. Have some empathy, people.
