Open here. Please I need advice on whether to sue for reimbursement and lost wages due to the surgery my dog needed. Is this a waste of time to sue? Anyone with a legal background want to answer as to whether I have a case?

OP here...to all those saying it's an accident, I agree, of course no groomer would do this on purpose, I hope! My issue is this "accident" has cost me almost $2k in lost wages (days out of work to stay home with my dog after surgery) and the cost of the vet bills.

Not only that, the groomer never really admitted to doing it, said it didn't seem to have happened with her or that maybe my friend did it (my friend dropped my dog off at the groomer for me).

Not the groomer is screening her calls and avoiding contact with me. It took 2 weeks for any response after submitting the vet bills and all she emailed back was that she would take it into advisement and look further into it. I has now been another 2 weeks since that email. I sent another email straight up asking if she intended to reimburse me for the vet bills or do I need to file in small claims court?

I'm not an unreasonable person, I know my dogs are pains to groom, it's why I don't do it...I have never had a problem with the small nicks they've come home with before. This is not a small nick, it was a full depth wound that was an inch long and 1/4 inch wide and the tendon was exposed. This took $750 in vet visits to fix.

Those of you saying it was an accident, and not to go after the groomer. Would you really eat that money and not make the groomer be responsible for it if it were your dog?

This. Terrier owner here. Poor dog groomer, I'd say. They have to put up with grooming our pampered, crazy babies--don't ruin a groomer for this. Go and talk to them about what happened.

I know! Its like no one in life is ever allowed to make a mistake. These people work with animals who can't talk back, who bite them, bite tools, poop and pee on them (sorry groomers I've got one of those) and MOVE. YES PEOPLE. That's right the animals move while they clip them. My gosh, handle this in private.

OP, I think small claims court is your best bet. No need to be a lawyer, but I hope you have that statement of paying for the vet visit in writing.
