That's true. More of the "big" online stores need to contract with the local people to give commissions. I hate buying stuff online that I can't try out, but it's hard to pay as much as 25% more in person.

Good riddance. We had so many issues with these people with both sets of our nursery furniture. It's kind of a relief to see that a business run this poorly can't stay afloat.

Did anyone have a pending order or repair from great beginnings they were waiting for? I'm wondering what you are doing? We don't have anyone to contact.

If you are looking for higher end stuff, Daisy Baby in Bethesda is awesome. They don't have a huge showroom, but the owner, Dana, has amazing vision and can easily pull together a beautiful nursery.

We have purchased things from Baby Blossom - so far they have been amazing!

Bellini also closed (but unlike great beginnings, Bellini closed the right way, with plenty of notice and took care of all their customers). There are really very few baby store options left.

Wow. I've purchased three furniture sets from them and had terrific customer service. How strange they came to such a rough ending.

Wow, my kids are older and they were my go to store when getting ready for DS. So sorry to see they closed.

I ordered a crib from them last year before my DD arrived which they kept pushing back the delivery date on. I cancelled the order. Reading the Yelp reviews and what happened with the closing, I am so glad I was able to cut my losses. I feel so bad for the parents who are out both their baby gear and their money due to the sudden closing....

Terrible ending.
