How poorly educated are you? From the destruction of the Spanish Armada until ww1 the UK was the undisputed leader of the free world. Ww1 & the boer war was Germany trying to gain power. You have heard of the British Empire- you know the one that the sun never set on? Unlike other European colonial powers, the Brits worked with their territories, thus leaving a lot of them better off & still eager to be in the commonwealth. Russia can never be the leader of a 'free' world not can China b/c those nations aren't technically free. The EU will actually become more powerful, it also depends on how skillfully congress limits trump- if they are as good as they were with Obama we have nothing to worry about. This country is becoming more liberal, net migration will end & white people who are uncomfortable will keep moving away from urban centers & becoming more & more disenfranchised while those who are fine will have to actually work super hard b/c the US won't be benifitting from the developing worlds brain drain anymore.

I am the poster of the message that this thread should be retitled. So, after 5 hours or so, nothing has been changed. And, I didn’t rely on you simply reading my comment, but I reported it as well.
Mr. Steele - I find it totally hypocritical of you to totally delete a thread referring to Warren (in the title) as Pocahontas (or some such name), yet you let this one stand.
There must be a very simple explanation..............


If you can't figure out the difference between Pocahantas and Trumpenstein then nobody can really help you out.

China will fill the vacuum not Russia. Russia is not economically and politically strong, as china is. India is stronger than any of the European power, individually, in all aspects. So technically India is the aspirant to the title "Leader of the free world" if US closes its door to rest of the world.

ok, so what are you saying - if trump wins (which i think is unlikely), the USA will be the sole superpower FOREVER? like until the sun explodes?

other countries are cathing up. sooner or later we won't be able to boss everyone around. in fact, even now we can't boss everyone. in the future our abilities will be even more limited.



Nobody is catching us. We defend everyone. We pay for everything. We buy everyone else's crap. When it hits the fan somewhere in the world, you think they are going to call Germany?

and again, cold war hysteria. countries like russia, germany, great britain, turkey... have learned the big dangers of over-extension. we still haven't. putin is not interested in conquering the world the way we are. we shouldn't be either but then you have armchair analysts (and even real analysts) worrying about "who is going to be the leader" and we keep plodding in a completely unsustainable direction.

I think you dramatically understate this country's importance, as well as the importance of the office. We could elect my 4 year old daughter's teddy bear and would still be the most important country in the world.


And we'd have a teddy bear as our commander in chief. Or your four-year-old.

Personally, I'd prefer that scenario to President Trump.
