I do it all the time. But then again, the guy sitting next to me at church last week was in full bike racing gear (padded shorts and everything.) So, every church is different.

If there's a God, do you really think they care one iota? Of course they don't. I think God would be more annoyed whether you're checking Facebook "checking in," texting, or on Instagram.

+ a million. It is enough with all of the judging in day-to-day life in general. I don't need to be judged when I go to church. I just gave up as I couldn't seem to remember all of the little rules. I got tired of MIL's and SIL's eye rolls and remarks.

What about regular glasses? I need them for distance vision, but I can read better without them, so I push them up on my head to read the hymnal when we're singing. I never thought about it before, but is this okay?

But the OP isn't talking about tank tops and flip flops. She is talking about her sunglasses on her head. Why is this a problem? Do you really think God has a problem with this when we have so many more problems??

Where did I say it was about religion per say? You missed my point entirely. Religion should grapple with more important issues than what you are wearing. I personally think it is "silly" for the husband to care whether or not his wife's sunglasses are on the top of her head....I'm assuming she is dressed properly? Why does anyone care when our world is going to hell in a handbasket?

Some people approach church the way they would possibly meeting the president in the oval office or attending a wedding. That is, an occasion in which one of the ways you show respect for its importance is in the way you dress. Others feel as if God probably doesn't care what you wear, and is simply glad that you are there, so being more casual even to the point of shorts and flip flops is fine.
