I thnk he wants to win because he can't handle the thought of losing. I don't think he actually wants to be president.
this.
No, he doesn't want to be president. He wants the vice-president to run the country (as per the NY Times article from yesterday that revealed Donald Trump Jr. asked Kasich if he wanted to be the most powerful vice-president ever, in charge of domestic and foreign policy) and he wants to be the King or a ceremonial head like in Germany with its president and chancellor.

Anonymous wrote:Yes. I think he wants to win and then quit. He already said that he is doing that. Then again, I wouldn't bet the country on it.

Anonymous wrote:No. He has been very vocal for some time about his concern for the direction our country is heading.

I have been saying this for months and my DH thinks I am crazy. To me it is unmistakably all a big joke. He has no intention of being president. He will never win, but if by some small miracle he does, he will come out with the truth and we will have to face a re-election.
Anonymous wrote:PP, there's no mulligan option in the Constitution. If Trump were to lose interest and step down after being sworn in, we don't do a re-election. Mike Pence would become president. Think about that long and hard.

I think you are just having a hard time understanding how an actual human being could act like Trump, but it is in fact a clear case of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. Not that I think he can win, but a lot of people with NPD are quite successful, even though almost everyone around them regards them with intense loathing.
Anonymous wrote:I think that was his original intent. Now he feels he has to win. My guess is he picked Pence to do the actual running of government so he can just go around mouthing off or he'll need to "step down" due to some unforeseen medical problem.
