You can't even muster the courage to provide reasons anonymously to a bunch of randos? Okay. Whatever. You might also try going to confess to a priest if you this enormous burden becomes too hard to bear. Best of luck to you. Hang in there. Get well soon.

I voted for Obama twice. I love Obama. I don't want him to leave.

I'm voting for Trump.
I'm not telling anyone.

You are a statistical anomaly, not that you dont exist, even if you do, it doesn't matter. Ivy leagers disproportionately vote dem, blacks even more so. Outliers dont matter.

May I ask if you are voting for Trump because you agree more with his policies than you do Hillary's (hard to imagine if you love Obama) OR because you absolutely do not want Hillary as president (for whatever reason)?

OK, that's unusual, but not unheard of.

Anonymous wrote:I'm 34

Doesn't tell me much; plenty of young people are choosing Trump.

Anonymous wrote:Graduated from Brown

OK, again, unusual, but not everyone leaves a school thinking the same.

So, people change, or perhaps you had expectations that weren't met.

Here, I must ask: What the hell? Clinton will govern almost exactly like Obama. The only people who I can possibly understand (disagree with, but understand) are those who say that they object to Clinton's positions to such an extreme degree that they are willing to take a risk on a person they don't trust or like or respect, but who they think might support their political ideology.

"I love Obama. I don't want him to leave. So I'm voting for the candidate that will reverse every policy he made, nuke every program he created and destroy every relationship we have with every democratic country in the world while complimenting dictators."

There will be many, many more conservatives not voting for Trump than there will be liberals not voting for Hillary.

I think there are a lot of people like you, and that's why he has a chance of winning.

There is no way. This is impossible ... for that racist, misogynist, xenophobic, narcissist, sexist bigot

And, for the person who asked why so secretive.... this is your answer.

Not the OP but fairly common in DC. I am friends with many from all walks if life, mostly liberal. Conversations here often start with impassioned generalization and the blanket expectation of agreement. I'm too old to argue and its not a litmus test for me in friendships. I do listen, but I only share my views and speak frankly with my husband. It just feels sort of pointless if you trend towards conservative in DC. You get painted with one tedious and extreme paint brush. I'd like to hear more about OPs thinking though. I haven't made up my mind.

Nobody said you have to argue. Just that you should t feel ashamed. To me that means you lack true commitment to a particular candidate.

Not the pp, but I totally understand where she is coming from.
I am a conservative and have an extremely liberal sister. I would love to discuss politics with her, but every time we do, it turns into an effort on her part to convince me that she is right. She doesn’t listen to what I say - she doesn’t respond to points I make. She just hammers her opinion over and over. There is no conversation.
It is tiring, so I will not engage her in political discussions. And, when she tries, I change the subject.
Life is easier that way.
I do, however, have liberal friends whom I can talk with and converse with. Even though our opinions differ.

NP, and I'll bite.

I'm not voting for Hillary. Ever, ever, ever, ever.

I don't want to vote for Trump.

I hate the idea of not voting, or just showing up at the polls on election day and voting for every other race on the ballot, except presidential.

I have to admit, the more I hear about Trump, the more I think he wouldn't be so bad. I think the way the media (led by the Washington Post, especially this week) is actively trying to take him down is horrible. That actually makes me sympathetic to him.

I'm not sure I would ever admit it either, and especially not tell my kids lest they blab to someone inadvertently.

But if election day were tomorrow, I think I'd vote for Trump too.

This is so true. It is as if people cannot imagine that other people have differing opinions.

This is true for people of all political backgrounds generally.
