Are most introverts incapable of entertaining? I'm an introvert but I have no problem entertaining in small numbers. Even large groups are fine, but I'm going to be worn out (not energized) by the end.

No I like having people over. What stresses me out is big group activities that are outside my home and last for days. Like a 3-day camping trip with a big group.

This No, I don't hate it. My kid is an extrovert, and I want him to be true to himself. While I'm true to myself in my room

Love how my daughter is a tween. I am really enjoying coaching girls' soccer and seeing them grow and be confident as they get older.

Hate it now when kids are teens, liked it when they were younger. I am an extreme introvert, but can act as an extrovert and fool people. Wipes me out completely.

Yep. I hate birthday parties though. My oldest will just invite a few friends to go do something (and usually DH deals with it) but my other two are much younger and we still invite all the girls in the class, and it's agony.

Nope, as long as I don't have to entertain their parents. It was hard when they were littler.

Yes but now that they are in their teens it's not as bad.

So far we haven't had anyone over. Birthday parties are extremely tough for me. I try to keep it together because my kid has never met a stranger. I try my best not to pass on my awkwardness although I know that may be impossible.

Depends on the kid. Some need more attention. But most now just run off and play. Those play dates I love.

I am a classic introvert, but I have just reached a point now where I absolutely adore my daughter having her friends over. She is 14. She has a great set of friends, and I just love having the house full of teenagers. They are funny and they enjoy interacting with us, as well as her, and it's just enough fun and laughter without me having to be so "on" like I was when the kids were small. We have done sleepovers galore. It's just gotten to be a lot easier at this age – all I have to do really is provide snacks and food, the kids are polite and well-spoken, and it just feels fun having a full house (and I also have two other children of my own).

No but I have an only child so when he has a friend over (like right now), I finally get a break. Some of his friends are a bit more high maintenance than others but I can still sit down and read a book, etc.
