I'm embarrassed that despite seeing the movie at least a hundred times over the course of my life that it didn't occur to me what the ghost was doing to Ray until I watched it with my four year old. It's a lie that I has now been passed down from generation to generation.

Kids and I saw it yesterday. It was good- a few lol scenes for me personally and there were a lot more laughs from others in the audience. Kids found it better than the original.

No problem, she has been doing those type of reviews for over 10 years, and I may not agree with her rating of movies on a regular basis, but the age appropriateness, I do agree with almost every single time.

PP how are you seeing the faces of the other kids. It was so dark I could barely see my own kid sitting right next to me.

The movie was very enjoyable. My 7 year old came with us and he rally enjoyed it. It was a fun movie and a great way to pass part of a HOT Saturday.

The entire row in front of me was a bunch of kids and three adults. A few of them had Ghostbusters toys with them. They kept playing with them (lifting them up in the air, play fighting with each other). A couple of the kids walked back and forth to one of the adults. Some were leaning over onto the arm of the seat with their heads down.

It wasn't just the kids. The adults around me didn't seem that into it. People had their phones out. Two people walked out. No one laughed at ANY of the jokes. Maybe it was just a bad audience. I've been in movies where the audience not buying into it killed the movie vs a really engaged audience that made a movie even more enjoyable. My theater didn't seem into it.

Not the PP, but maybe the lights were on enough pre-show and the PP saw people walk in?

I grew up in the 80s where all the nostalgia movies have dudes doing all the cool stuff. With that in mind, I loved the all female ghostbusters! Not as much as the original - obviously. But it was so great. Go, and take all your daughters. And get them adorable ghostbuster outfits for Halloween.

ranks up there with Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and the movie adaptation of Avatar the Last Airbender

I can't wait!!!! Love all the actresses.
