Can you imagine if someone posted that young whites were going to hold a day of rage over anti-abortion laws. Would people really fear traveling into DC if they thought the protestor was Larla and Charles instead of Lakeisha and Chavaughn?
I don't think you can assume that someone questioning whether this was a hoax or not think the worst about people who oppose police killing unarmed black people. These protests, while predominantly peaceful, have erupted into horrible violence, and the OP was being prudent. She/he said she was bringing a teenager and old parents.
I don't assume that about a person questioning if it's a hoax. I do assume it about someone already has fear and their fears balloon/are validated upon hearing a hoax. The person who researches if its a hoax is being responsible. The person who panics, cancels trips into majority black cities, and spreads the rumor all over social media is not being responsible.
