The football kids at Prep are more athletic I think. There is rarely crossover.

I agree with that. I think the teams of 10 or even 20 years ago would have made mincemeat of the current ones. These teams are fielded with lacrosse-only kids, who just aren't as overall athletic as previous GP impact players.

I noticed this when watching GP on offense swinging the ball around from side to side repeatedly. They had no one big and fast enough to dodge toward the goal and couldn't work a pass into an inside player standing or cutting for a shot. The kids can catch and throw alright. At first I thought that they were afraid to make a mistake. It almost looked like "stall ball", but it wasn't. They just didn't have a Gladding or a Brancaccio or Scott Doyle.

Not top echelon WCAC football or basketball which has quite a few D 1 athletes, but prep schools filled with wealthy parents trying to keep up with the Joneses and live vicariously through their lax kid, who may aspire to play lax in college, but would likely have a hard time making a WCAC football or basketball squad.

Off the top of my head I can name 20 GP lacrosse players who played lacrosse in college who would had have no trouble playing football or basketball in the WCAC. Many were recruited in more than one sport.

What a hypocrite. In the same sentence you condemn GP parent/student lacrosse aspirations and glorify WCAC marquee sports. And just because the parents are wealthier it doesn't mean they can't be invested in the same way in their children. We are all guilty of this at some level, so get off of your high horse. From what I have seen over the years, the GP lacrosse program has produced more than its share of D I athletes, and frequently the most academically rigorous of the lot.
