Same in our house, hubby & I have to agree to disagree.

I tend to use a bowl and/or spoon for lots of things. Spaghetti a bowl with a fork, mashed potatoes with a spoon, pudding a bowl with a spoon. To really throw a curve, if it is only ice cream, that goes in a big coffee mug with a spoon.

The answer is: it doesn't matter! You really can go with any combo and the guests will not question you at all as long as the cake and Ice cream are delicious.

So stop arguing with your dh about utensils and start talking flavors...can we help choose those??

This post makes me think the next time I serve cake and ice cream, to set out a stack of plates and a stack of bowls, and a bunch of forks and spoons, and then just let the guests mix and match. Because the answers have been all over the place. Good to know.

Also can we eventually make this post a heated satire of all political discussions?

I'm with you. I don't like soggy cake, so unless they are together on a BIG plate with a divider in the middle, I eat one or the other.
