I have a tween girl now under the evil influence of hormones. I now understand why medieval lords fostered out their kids. You don't want to kill your heirs or have them kill you.

If he's Ranger, like my nephew, they may send him North of the Wall to scout for wights. But they send the really difficult boys to Spotty WIFI Castle-by-the-Sea. It's really far.

I am actually a mom of all boys, including teenage. No girls to speak of in this house besides me.

I figured every thread about raising teenagers comes with at least one preschool mom lamenting how the teen parents are parenting, so I might as well get it out of the way in the beginning.

OP here. There was a time when I thought 14 would have been a perfect match for Lady Mormont, but then my Lord husband rode off in the night to join The Vale at the Battle of the Bastards --with their father away, the boys refuse to pack the dishwasher or even practice their sword dancing.
