The suggestions already are great. May I add that we love Max Lucado and Sarah Young children's books? You are very thoughtful to get books. I love my little library for my kids!

These are all good. I'll add two that people recommend less frequently but are a big hit here:

Splendid Spotted Snake
The Best Mouse Cookie
Naptime for Kitty

and for an older two year old: Don't Press the Button

Wherever You Are, My Love Will Find You

I cry EVERY SINGLE TIME I read it. I love it so much. My baby/toddler feels kind of "eh" about it, but oh I love it. 2 year in and I still get choked up.

My kid really loves lift the flap books. Which are mind numbing to read, but man she loves them .

Great list, I'll add Don and Audrey Wood books:,

The Little Mouse, the Red ripe strawberry and the big Hungry Bear,
The Napping House,
and for the younger set: Silly Sally.

The Napping House is a bit old for a 2 year old but Silly Sally and The big hungry bear are perfect.
