I've also heard good things about the Doubletree.

I was surprised at how good the Sofitel was.

The Westin Center City is good. Right next to Liberty Place Mall and close to Rittenhouse Square. It's a little farther from Independence Hall, but I don't think the overpriced boutique hotels closer to that area are worth it.
