600K max and we want a single family home. I work in Old Town and DH works across the river in Maryland. We don't want to live in PG county, so we are looking for places along the beltway. Hence the Edison, West Potomac, Hayfield, Annadale, Falls Church questions.

We are renting right now and have considered the West of the beltway neighborhoods, but in terms of getting on the beltway, we can't go too far west before running into serious commute issues.

DeRose is nice and is very into school spirit, but I'm not impressed with the academic side. I feel there is a lot of fluff but no substance. I can't compare it to Poe, however, as I have no experience with that school.

I think the issue with Glasgow is the size. It really needs to be redistricted.

OP, I used to live between Vienna and Dunn Loring in one of the townhouse communities feeding into Fairhill ES. My neighbors all used the local schools and they were happy with Fairhill. The commute wasn't bad via metro, or if I drove into DC before 7:00. I think the demographics of FCHS are on the upswing, and the school is not as overcrowded as many in the area.

Folks I know who used Jackson MS and Falls Church HS were happy with it. We moved into Arlington before my daughter entered school, so I can't speak from experience. (though I can recommend our awesome daycare/preschool.)

OP, there's a TH community walking distance to Dunn Loring that feeds to Fairhill ES. Not my area, I'm near Oakton, but I have friends there and they love the community and the schools.

Look at Mason Crest. Amazing elementary school, nice neighborhood (Broyhill Crest) with nice SFH's just around 500K. MS sucks but HS not terrible.

No part of Annandale feeds into Lake Braddock. Annandale feeds into Annandale, Falls Church, Stuart and Woodson.

Same here except Timberland is our elementary. Some of the kids go to Mantua but most people actually say great things about Timberland.
