OP, I totally agree with everyone who says it's not something you need to apologize for. If you spend time with these friends often, then they know it was out of character. And if they're good friends, they will allow you one incident of having one too many on your birthday. If you feel the need to say anything, I would wait for a few weeks or a couple of months, invite them out again, in an email that says something like, "Hey Barney and Betty, are you free next Saturday? Fred and I have been wanting to try this restaurant, and it would be fun to double date. I promise to behave!

OMG no!! You were happy and celebrating and you are in a loving marriage. What is there to apologize for? Shit I've done things while overly intoxicated that are actually embarrassing where you feel regret the next day. Enjoy life!
