I took it around 27-29 weeks during my first pregnancy. Doctor gave me 10 pills and I did not use most of them (maybe took it 5 Times). No side effect. I am on my third pregnancy and I fon’t Think i could take it now because I wake up to pee with strong contractions at least twice per night. Thankfully I have no problem sleeping this time around

My doctor also gave me Ambien after I started the induction meds (7 PM, baby born at 1 pm the next day, so I’m glad I got some sleep).

What about when you start to not feel the baby move?

I've been taking the unisom sleep tabs nightly. They work okay but when I'm getting desperate I will take an ambien. Took 5mg a total of four times over the course of my second trimester.

I'm nervous about it but was told, like others on here, that occasional use isn't a problem.

Have you tried Benedryl? Knocks me out.

OP here, took the Unisom sleep tabs last night (not the sleep gels) and they worked! I slept in a 4 hr stretch at one point, which hasn't happened in several months. Ah!

My doc prescribed clonipine instead. Worked great.

+1 and the only reason why I didn't take it was that I never took it before and didn't want to chance having weird side effects.

I took a quarter to half of a 5 mg tab throughout pregnancy. Ok'd by my psychiatrist, high risk OB, and midwives. DD came out big and healthy.

Try the unusom tabs! That plus natural calm worked for me.

Took 2.5mg occasionally throughout my pregnancy. Happy, healthy 3-month old currently cooing in my lap. I say take it - you'll feel so much better after you get some rest.

I would not take ort if there was any risk of going into labor soon. I myself was prescribed narcotic pain relievers at the end of my pregnancy but discontinued their use before 37 weeks due to the risk of baby being lazy/slow to breathe on their own if narcotics are in their system. I don't know how Ambien compares to narcotics, but I'd be super cautious towards the end.

I feel your pain, though. I literally could not lie down in the last 6 weeks of pregnancy. I have never been more miserable in my life. Second and last time I'm doing that!
