Jesus said that, but there's a whole bunch of hatred and calls for violence against homosexuals earlier in the bible, which is often cited by Christians as reasons to hate homosexuals. So, I don't think Christians get a free pass on this.

However, based on some reports, the shooter may not have had a very sophisticated understanding of Muslim groups and may not have been able to tell Shia groups from Sunni groups. According to this article:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/worldviews/wp/2016/06/13/omar-mateen-may-not-have-understood-the-difference-between-isis-al-qaeda-and-hezbollah/

The shooter expressed support for al-Nusra (al-Qaida affiliate in Syria), the Tsarnaev brothers (inspired by al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula -- AQAP), ISIS, and Hezbollah. Al-Nusra is fighting ISIS in Syria, Hezbollah is fighting both al-Nusra and ISIS in Syria, and AQAP is fighting ISIS in Yemen. So, that is a very strange list of groups to support.

Regardless, the remarks by the Shaykh are condemnable.

He was born in America. What does he know? All I know if 50 gay men are dead at the hands of this man who killed after casing the place multiple times prior. He planned it. That's not mental illness. That's evil. Seems logical he'd support all evil, and not give a shit what form of Islam is the most evil, in his mind.

Seems to me that every single solitary attack by Muslim extremists liberals have excused as mental illness or a lone wolf. We are not listening anymore. Got it?

You were never listening and unlikely to ever listen. You were anti-Islam the first day you got here, have been anti-Islam every day that you have been here, are will probably continue to be anti-Islam. You have no idea why the shooter visited the club or utilized gay saying apps. It's just as likely he was a closeted homosexual. If every white guy who commits a massacre is diagnosed with mental health issues, why can't every Muslim?

I actually agree with Jeff!!! Lol. Anyone who commits a mass murder is psycho and has mental illness, regardless of their internal justifications.

Anti Radical Islam. I know the difference and don't excuse it away. The closeted homosexual theory? Yet another red herring. No surprise.

The reason the white guy caught in LA probably has mental health issues is because he acted weird enough to, first, raise alarm bells and because he actually told the police officer where he was going with the guns, ammo and whatever was in the bucket. He didn't meticulously hide his plan from the authorities. That's a huge red flag to a profiler for actual mental illness. The Orlando shooter made sure no one knew what he was planning. He prepared well and executed his plan - and 50 people.

You did notice your liberal compadres attacking the gay woman in the thread you locked? That was rather fascinating, from a psychological standpoint.

It was fascinating to see the reaction when she stepped out of line. She went against the liberal identity politics and was attacked because she simply can't support Trump, because she's a lesbian.

What's fascinating is your bizarre idea of who liberals are and what you think "identity politics" is. I'm a liberal and will call out illogical shit even when it comes from a lesbian. She was attacked because her argument was idiotic.

But we do, at least in my liberal circles, condemn Christians who are homophobic and call for the persecution of gays.

However, we are far less likely to apply the same standards to Muslims out of a fear of appearing to be Trump-like.

Trump's "Banning Muslim Immigration" is the prime example that he does not understand anything about law and implementation. How do you ban all Muslim immigration. Based on what? Country, Name, or a box where they would identify as Muslim?
