This was in Bavaria in the early 80s. But I'm sure kids still go on brewery field trips.
America has a puritanical and unhealthy relationship with alcohol; it would do well to learn from Europe, where the viewpoints are more sophisticated and practical.
Many places in your beloved Europe have appalling alcoholism rates.
One of our favorite family trips when we lived in France was to Champagne. There's a little train that goes through the caves where they keep the bottles and then you can walk around the vineyards.
We had five kids under five with us (with the other family along) and we all had a blast!
