Also too, and not to hijack, but there is very sophisticated lunch table market for "premium" food so that the kid w/ lunchables may end up with and entirely different lunch (e.g. tunafish sandwich and Cheetos), as might the the kid with the healthiest organic lunch who could be screwed or trade up his cucumbers for some oreos, if s/he is smart/picks the right counterparty.

So, you actually knew he was going to eat/drink what you bought. So, you could have bought extras. Also, at least he drank the water, which you can refill. I don't like getting annoyed about the small stuff and I don't have that much trouble letting stuff like this go. One of my tactics is to try to avoid. And, I would look at it like this. My DH would enjoy a lunchable too, so it would be nice if I got him one too.

Over time, your dh's cumulative behavior is destructive in a relationship.I would be annoyed, irritated, and would not trust him. I wouldn't ask for an apology. An apology is for a one time thing. This seems to keep happening.

Have a one-to-one conversation and start talking to a counselor to air things out.

Did that on purpose to piss you off.
Ask him what he is really angry about. Tell him he needs to find healthy ways to process his anger instead of purposely messing up your things.

I think I was just appalled that he did that and didn't even bother to apologize. But you bring up a good point.

I can understand you being annoyed. But to ask for an apology for this minor transgression?? Are you for real? Of course your DH will be annoyed if you treat him like a child, even if he is acting like one.

OP here. My kids ask for them - but I only buy them occasionally, like for tomorrow's field trip. So either no one mocks them, or they just don't care. But thanks for the info.
