I have also seen on explicit people with sexual insecurities and hang ups getting some excellent advice. Sure, there are probably guys pretending to be women playing with each other, but some legitimate posters who need reassurance that they are all right and can be comfortable with who they are.

I feel like I basically just said that people who go to explicit are just more sexually driven by their nature than I am and that guys masturbate while they read that forum.

I'm new to DCUM and was immediately drawn to the explicit forum because it's hard to talk about some of that stuff with real people - like I don't want my sisters knowing about my husbands erections or my strange fantasies, but I also don't feel the need to seek out therapy for this either, so it's a good outlet for me. Yes, there are some scumbags on there, just as there are on here too most likely. I just tune out the dick-head comments. I'm just your average soccer mom, married 17 years with 4 kids, but I also have sex and like talking about it sometimes. I can also give you "normal" relationship and parenting advice. I do find that people on this forum are a little more "judge-y", but both groups are useful. If you can screen out some of the BS on the other site it can be helpful, even enlightening.

I used to accidentally click over there on occasion and that is a weird and different world over there for sure. Now that it doesn't come up on recent topics anymore I don't accidentally click on those threads anymore. "Show me your (private body part)"....and middle aged moms and dads taking and posting links to pictures of themselves. I've never looked at any of those pictures but you can tell from the comments on the thread that they must be posting selfies of themselves (or of someone they know) for others to look at.

And then some of the topics over there....no thanks. It's a different sort of mentality. I wouldn't want a question moved over there either...delete it first before moving it over there.

Why delete it? You might get help there. You might not.

It's not like if someone over there says "take it in the butt" you have to follow their suggestion!

Yes, but they talk differently over in the more mainstream forum than they do in explicit. Oddly enough, I'm not exactly a prude I'm just uncomfortable with the kind of details that the posters get into on explicit. Obviously there must be a demand for that kind of conversation. But I'm not interested in sharing X-rated "tips" like that and I prefer the more PG rated mainstream topics.

I occasionally read those threads, some of which I find interesting and some of which I find gross. The people in explicit seem nicer on average than on the main board, but the topics are way too hard core for most, and I agree with PP above that it is such a different orientation that it doesn't necessarily translate into actionable advice for more mainstream folk. I can see why people would prefer their threads don't go that way.
