+2 on Liane Moriarty. They are chick lit but relatively well-written so won't make you feel like a complete idiot.

I just read Kitchens of the Great Midwest by Ryan Stradal and it was light and an easy read but not completely shitty.

Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovish - so shitty, slightly smutty & easy to read, that I refuse to add it as "Read" on my Good Reads account.

On a similar note, try And When She Was Good, by Laura Lippman. Fast and fun. (And far better than sh*tty.)

For a fast and easy plot, it's hard to beat Nelson Demille (try Radiant Angel or Gold Coast) or John Grisham (The Associate or King of Torts).

I also like Liane Moriarty's books, which are quick but not brain dead.

And Rainbow Rowell. Try Eleanor & Park or Landline.

Less a fan of JoJo Moyes, but some of my friends love her books. Especailly when they want something easy and mindless.

She's a former federal sex crimes prosecutor so really knows her stuff. Her books area series so start with the first one.

Michael Crichton or Preston and Child for a la Da Vinci Code. M. M. Kaye mysteries. If you *really* want sh*tty, Phyllis Whitney or better yet VC Andrews - Flowers in the Attic or My Sweet Audrina - can't beat the old skool stuff...although that last might be too Twilighty, admittedly.
