Relationships are hard to keep the romance going no matter what sex the people involved are. Whether you're a woman or man married to either, if you don't invest in the relationship and making romance a priority, it's going to go by the wayside.
No one is always ready to be romantic. The stress of life (marriage, work, family, kids) is a romance killer unless you focus on the fact that you're with the person you love and you want to be doing this together.

OP here. At least that hasn't happened to us (yet). A lot of the time we would like to but can't because one or both of us is sick (thanks, daycare germs!) or family is visiting or one of us has to work late, etc. etc. etc.
And I am totally "Larla's Mom" at daycare, not my name, in response to another comment.
Sounds like no one read The Argonauts? It was one of the NY Times books of the year for 2015, and really is awesome. It's nonfiction about queer families, sex, politics, and writing. I highly recommend it to anyone.
