Forrester is 62lbs lighter than CRV

Love my Subaru. Forester is a more comfortable ride than the CR-V, IMO.

A few friends of mine have CRVs and they all complain about the sight lines in the back. The curved windows in the CRV make it look more care like, but it really hurts viability compared to the larger more square windows in the rear of the Forester.

We bought a new Forester too, because buying used didn't make sense. There was very low used inventory and the ones they did have were expensive (like $22k for a car with 80k miles on it, when new was $25k).

We've been really happy with it, had it for 2 years. We choose it over other mid-size SUVs because my 6'5" DH fit well in the front seat (it has power controls that allow him to move the seat like 10 different directions which is REALLY useful for him).

Subaru named as a lesbian car has nothing to do with how it runs.

We have a CRV and Subaru Forester. Both are now about 6/7 years old.
The difference I see is the Subaru is heavier and feels heavier when you drive it. Probably cause it is made of more metals than the CRV. And the engine is loud when we start the car, than the CRV.

I feel the CRV handling is better for me. The Subaru itself has a longer body than the CRV. CRV probably has better mileage.
CRV IS pretty standard but that just means any mechanic can fix it if there are problems but that's not often because it doesn't have big issues. We haven't had problems with the Subaru so far yet.

Either one of this is a good choice.

I think it comes down to how you feel when you are driving it. How the handling and brakes feel to you.

We looked into buying a used Subaru Forester last year and ended up buying a new one because the used ones were barely discounted. Subarus hold their value very well. I got my 2015 Forester almost exactly a year ago for 3.5% below invoice (not MSRP, INVOICE). It's a great time of year to buy an SUV because the weather is getting warmer. Also a great time of year to get this Model year at a low price because they're trying to clear the lots for the 2017s.

+1. Never in my life thought I'd buy new, but the difference was so negligible, we did, too. Longtime Outback owner, but happy with my Forester so far.
