I bet you $1,000 you do know someone who is transgendered. You just don't realize it because he or she passes without question, and because his/her gender is totally irrelevant to your relationship.

I am quite sure that no one in my small circle of friends and friendly acquaintances is not transgendered. I used to greet a cross-dressing father at my kid's old school, but I didn't even know his name, don't count him as a person I *know*, and he wasn't transgendered. He was a male in long skirts.
