Is it a top tooth or a bottom tooth? My DD only has 3 front bottom teeth and we are not getting an implant. She has braces and crowding anyway so the ortho is going to just center the three bottom teeth. If it's a top tooth, you should probably get an implant.

I have a baby tooth and I'm 37 (It's a molar). I know that isn't the OP's problem, but I would recommend parents letting the baby tooth remain for as long as possible. My grandmother and father each have one baby tooth and they still have it at 94 and 67!

daughter needed braces... also had an adult tooth that never came in.

the ortho moved the existing teeth to make a space for an implant.

thankfully it was off to the side.

once she gets an implant she won't need to wear the retainer at night

Dentists don't routinely X-ray anterior (front) teeth at that age.

I have two baby teeth in my mouth and I am 45. I have heard for over 25 years that they will soon fall out and I will need an implant. At least 3 dentists have recommended pulling out the teeth and have warned they will fall out in the next year. I always refuse and still have the teeth. Tell your child not to wiggle her tooth and it might stay in for years. Don't let a dentist pull the tooth out.

Uh, your adult front tooth may be 3x larger but not everyone's is. My kids permanent front teeth are the smaller than most of their peers. My DH also has small teeth.

It is a big deal if one of the missing teeth is the front tooth.

OP doesn't need judgment and scolding. On the other hand, there is a BIG difference b/t the look of a baby front tooth and an adult front tooth. If one front tooth was a baby and one was an adult, it would be very hard not to notice. The adult tooth is 3 times as big!

How did you not realize this was a baby tooth in the first place?! It took a dentist to tell you this? I have a 6yr old and without looking at his mouth, I can tell you exactly what teeth he has lost and what he hasn't. I'd have been alarmed if I were you years ago, not just at 10...thinking somehow this baby tooth was a permanent.

Are you divorced? Only have weekends?

Not OP here. Let me guess....you have a singleton, very limited life experience and save all your snowflake's lost teeth.
