Anonymous wrote:"You know, Byron. I'm not sure everyone on this board really lives in Shepherd Park. I bet a lot of them are secretly living in Maryland! The other day, I was driving down Eastern Avenue and I saw A LOT of Maryland plates. You know what that means."
"Were some of them driving expensive cars, Cindy?"
"Of course! I felt almost foolish, in my Tahoe. How can I ever keep up with all those people on the road with Maryland plates who might have schoolchildren that might illegally be attending a Capitol Hill school?"
"I don't know. But it's obviously a really pressing concern."

And BAM! Someone FINALLY gets it. These aren't cheaters...these are families with joint custody. Go figure!Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:They don't do anything. My friend turned in a MD resident who is at LAMB, a year later...still there.
My friend's daughter goes to LAMB. The parents are divorced- full joint custody. Kids are legally in DC schools. Report away but it isn't illegal.

I have taken photos of one family's MD license plates at a Deal feeder and at Deal.
I have given the names of the students and the address used in the school's directory.
It is well known to kids' friends that they live in MD but grandparents live in DC. Classic.
This has gone on for 5 years. Yes, Deal Middle School and one of the feeder schools.
DCPS has not done anything.
And it's a really fancy/expensive car. I know it shouldn't but that annoys me.
What MD school are these people supposedly zoned for that his them sneaking into Deal? Lots of people have MD plates precisely because they don't want to go to Deal.
