Subject: How much did your couch cost and what's your HHI?
Restoration hardware leather sofa maybe 10 years old about 3k and the leather is worn.
Baker sofa for about 6,200.
Hhi now about 500 (was a lot less when we bough the restoration hardware sofa).
All the people who buy used you wonder who is buying new.

10k sofa
Two full sofa, Ottoman and a chair. We have had it 15 years and it's good as new. Leather.
Hhi was 160 at that time. It's 250k now.

HHI $125k.
DH & both brought 10-year-old $500 sofas when we moved in together. His was from Jennifer Convertibles, mine from Grand. We just added a $900 IKEA fold-out sectional.

Macy's leather sofa, maybe $1000? Bought it 10 yrs ago and just had the leather patched so it's good for quite a while longer.

hhi is 270k. But it is the most expensive piece of furniture either of us has ever purchased. rest of our stuff is ikea, craigslist, etc.
Ha! Had one of those from 12 years ago. Just threw it out this december. Made me sad. It was 6k in 2004. I'll never spend that again. I'm th poster who just bought a costco replacement for $800.

$1500 Bryght sofa. Went lower priced because we have kids and pets, and have been pleasantly surprised with quality. $300k HHI.

OP- sofas aren't indications of HHI unless we have money to burn. Many people, no matter HHI, like a bargain.

Living room: $1900 for a Chesterfield style sofa from Joybird. Gorgeous.
Family room: $1500 for a sectional from Macy's. Bought it 14 years ago, and it has held up really well under hard use by 3 kids.
