My grandmother's name was Jessie (born in 1915) and we used it for our DD's middle name. Love it. But I like Katherine too - she just might get Kate whether you want it or not (not that I don't like Kate). I think pearl is cute but not sure if it's too quirky?

I think Katherine is the only one from your list that sounds ok with Hardy.

I know Katrin is a real name but we don't live in Germany or Scandinavia so I do think ppl will always misspells and mispronounce it in the us, which would be very annoying for the kid and the parents too

I like the name Marie as a first or middle. Katherine is nice and safe. I like the nn Kate. Classic. Used to be extremely popular (at least where I'm from) but I hardly ever hear it anymore. So, I'd do some combination of those 2 names.

I don't like the name Katrin. It seems like you either meant Katherine and just left out some letters accidentally or else you meant Katrina and just forgot the A. I mean, I know it is a name but I just think people will constantly be misspelling it, mispronouncing it, asking if it's really Katrina or Katherine and it'll be annoying.

Jessie...hmm no. I don't like it at all. It seems dated, doesn't seem like a full name, and I don't like the sound of it anyway.

Pearl is awful. I like the idea of it as an old-fashioned name or a middle name maybe but I think a modern day kid named Pearl would likely wind up hating their name. Also, I'd always be thinking of the name Earl when I heard it. Yuck.

I think Birdie is a very cute nickname but since you already have a kid named Hardy...Hardy and Birdie don't really go that well together to my ear, if that matters to you. I think the full name for Birdie would traditionally be Bridget but on Mad Men, Don calls Betty Birdie so I guess it's a nickname for Elizabeth/Betty too. I like both Bridget and Elizabeth although Elizabeth's pretty boring. How about Bridget Marie or Katherine Bridget?

I think using family names is a lovely tradition. (There's nothing wrong with the nickname Birdie. It's sweet.)

OP just buy one of those See N Say toys and you and DH spin it and whatever it lands on will be your DD's name. Heck you don't even have to buy it you can use one of the Try mes at Walmart.
