I think this speaks to how easy it is to mix up the names (and that Caroline and Catherine are too close).

That's funny that you both and your DC are Cs. One of my favorite families growing up was all C names, including mom, and then Dad began with a different letter. I didn't think it was corny, but then again, I like puns and am pretty corny myself.

I would go more classic since Caroline is old school. Eleanor, Elizabeth, Natalie, Emma...

We are not married to having a C name it just so happens we like names that start with a C. I am open to having a non C name! Love all the suggestions!

I also have a Caroline and am expecting my 2nd. My name is actually one of the ones on your list. Weird!

If we had a girl, my front runners were Catherine, Claire, and Elizabeth. We have a lot of monogrammed stuff, to put it lightly, so I was hoping to stay with the same monogram.

We are expecting a little boy and I'm pretty sure we are naming him James. If you want a C boy name, I like Connor, but we know a zillion Connors right now. Don't do Charles, because Charles is the feminine version of Caroline and that just sounds kind of silly I think. Too close. I think you need a classic name to match Caroline. Other names I liked (regardless of letter) were John (nn Jack), William, Thomas...

I know a sibling pair that's Claire and Caroline.

It has to be Elizabeth, for a girl. All girl names except Elizabeth and Caroline are

1. trashy
2. pretentious
3. trying too hard
4. too common

(pick one or more).

I have siblings Caroline and Catherine, then my parents stopped with the C names.

OP here ... so to make things even harder both DH and I have names that start with a C. Coincidence for the two of us (obviously) but then we named DD with a C name. Now I feel like we either embrace it and go with all C's (which might be corny) or we have to stop with kid number 2.

You're going to be mixing up the names when you call them. I sometimes do it and my kids' names are nothing alike. I think it would be worse if their names sounded the same.
