Guy here. Agree. It is not disrespect...just biological and laws of nature at play. Man is always in pursuit of the opposite sex.
You are missing the point. It's not guys have low opinion of women. Guys are just wired differently than women.

I personally don't think I am all that but men tend to have a very visceral response to me thus making it difficult to have male friends without them at some time bring up the subject of being more than friends. Wives and girlfriends don't like me either even though I try really hard to befriend them and assure them I don't want their boyfriend/husband. I like guys as friends they are great but I have had so many fall by the wayside that I don't even bother anymore.

I am quite good looking, and I have a number of close male friends. In all non-gay instances, there was a certain amount of sexual tension in the beginning, but once it isn't acted on for a while, it usually dissipates. That's when we become actual friends.
