So good! I'm an old DCUMer, so I was a baby right around when it takes place now. Looking forward to Chummy's return next year!

This season was absolutely incredibly well written and performed. That finale had me bawling. I mean I shed a tear during almost every episode, but more than usual this time around!

Thalidomide? I couldn't recall if the mother of Susan was they same one they prescribed that to last season.

+1 I assumed that this is what Jenny meant as well. The repercussions of thalidomide were a big problem in Britain in the 50s and 60s. Women were prescribed thalidomide for morning sickness, which resulted in severe birth defects (no arms or legs) in many children. We watch the show and my husband (British) said he knew several people from his school and community with birth defects caused by thalidomide and that it was big news at the time not only because of what happened but also because many of the court cases were happening at the time (late 60s, early 70s).

that was shockingly hard to watch and I didn't know that the damage to babies was so severe to make sex identification impossible.

Horrible. I'm so grateful for ultrasounds and the fact that moms get to be more informed of everything, despite concerns many (including myself) have about potentially unnecessary interventions and lack of communication from doctors in the modern day. Did they know for sure that the baby couldn't survive?
