I don't like the target ones (with the fake drawstring) - the 3T fit DS in length but still fall off. (he's 4.5 and probably 36 lbs, 40 inches). Unfortunately I'd bought a bunch of them before I realized they were still too big.

I'd just gotten him a bunch of pants from Old Navy for the fall and that was when he decided he couldn't do buttons. He's NT - so it's not a special needs thing... I think fall and winter of 2014/15 he was newly potty trained and got a lot of help... then summer he wore mostly elastic, so this fall when he was more on his own with the potty the button refusal started.

Target for sure. My 5 year old skinny mini string bean with autism will only wear them. We had to go to the store to find the right pair but then you can order a bunch online.

tea collection is very slimming.

You should really check out girl leggings in neutral colors. Even little girl clothes are so much more form fitting than boy clothes.

I don't recommend Tea -- I thought the same for my really skinny 3t boy and he was too skinny and the pants fell down. Unwearable

We've had luck with Jacadi. Expensive but runs *really* slim. They have buttons, etc, but my son is so skinny he just leaves them fastened, pulls down and then back up. Adjustible waistbands too, which are of course essential. Available online, although I suggest trying a discount site like Gilt if you can where they come half price.

Other than that, I've found that any pants with adjustible waistbands can work if they are adjusted enough. And just ignore the snaps, etc. With an elastic waistband if you leave those fastened, they can be pulled down, then pulled back up and they will stay due to the elastic.

I loveTea Collection - look at their cotton play pants. Have them in every color for my thin 3yo.

Thanks everyone! Those tea collection pants look promising, and I ordered some children's place ones with adjustable waist from Amazon.

Children's Place has pull-on jeans with an elastic waistband that might work. I have always bought these for my skinny toddler.

+1 Definitely great for slim toddlers, these are some of our go to pants.
