OP here. I called the DCPS Manager for Health Services. Just wanted to report that DCPS allows 30-min on either side of the prescribed time. The nurses are run through the Dept of Health and while their training says 1 hour on either side in a hospital setting, it is clear that is is 30-min in the schools. If your school nurse is in violation you should contact the 504 team.

As a Nurse, any med can be given one hour before and one hour after the scheduled time.
I'm also amok of an adhd teen and never found an hour to be a huge difference.

OP here. Interesting debate above. But happy to report our principal, who is great, stepped in this morning to help out. I agree with the statement above that insulin, etc, should be priority, but for our kid, the timing makes the difference on focusing on school work or not, extracurricular activities, eating and sleeping.
